Let’s Bust a Few Myths About Motherhood
So you’re a parent. Or becoming a parent…or you’re thinking about becoming a parent. Well, congratulations and R.I.P. to your old life because it is about to completely change. Or has changed already if you’re like me. Once you’re on the motherhood journey, there’s no looking back.
It’s all very exciting, bringing a little person into this world. They become a part of your own personal genetic tribe, and it’s great. Watching them grow and develop personalities, experiencing love like you never have before. All that. Yes, those parts are magical. But a lot of motherhood — not so much.
A lot is chaotic, stressful, and confusing. Tripping up those difficult steps while trying to get the stroller up. Running around the house like a madwoman, heart pounding, trying to heat up baby’s bottle while the poor thing screams bloody murder because every second they don’t have it is apparently eternity. And you are literally doing it as fast as humanly possibly. Contrary to what the world thinks, moms are indeed human.
Yelling to your partner over their screaming because baby is straining to pass a BM while you’re on the phone with your credit card company, and you’re both trying to figure out whether they’re also hungry, or just…
