So, how does the flower survive?
She finally confides in the flowers she left behind. They tell her she’s not diseased, after all.
The flower begins to heal. But she knows she must leave the killer. And in a way, she did.
You see, he didn’t realize he’d made it even easier for the flower to leave him. He’d ripped her from her roots. Now she belonged nowhere.
She learns to walk with that disconnected stem — and escapes the poisonous ground.
But she could never go back home.
